40 minutes from Ojai · 30 miles
Forty minutes down the 33 and the 101 — and worth the drive.
805 Live Scan is a private, DOJ & FBI certified Live Scan fingerprinting and notary studio in Camarillo, CA, serving Ojai and all of Ventura County. Walk-ins and appointments Tuesday through Friday, and after hours by arrangement.
About 40 minutes and 30 miles via CA-33 south to US-101 south, exit Carmen Drive. Free parking at the door, and most visits are finished in fifteen minutes, so a round trip from Ojai fits inside a lunch hour.
Directions from OjaiThe Ojai Valley — downtown Ojai, Meiners Oaks, Oak View, Mira Monte, and the East End — is a place people choose to live for its quiet, and it is a place where Live Scan providers are few. 805 Live Scan is about forty minutes south: CA-33 to US-101, then the Carmen Drive exit in Camarillo. We know that is a real trip, so we make it count — a private room, no line, certified equipment operated by the owner, and results transmitted to the DOJ before you head back up the valley.
Ojai is unusual for a city its size in the number of schools it hosts: the Ojai Unified School District, several well-known boarding and independent schools, and a full calendar of summer camps and outdoor programs. Faculty, residential staff, counselors, coaches, and volunteers are all cleared through Live Scan, and the peaks come in late summer and again in spring as camps staff up. If your school or camp needs to clear a group, our mobile service brings the equipment to the valley for five or more people and finishes everyone in a single session.
Ojai Valley Community Hospital, the valley’s assisted living communities, and its home care agencies send nurses, CNAs, and caregivers through Live Scan for state licensing and onboarding. Ventura County IHSS caregivers in Ojai must clear a DOJ check before they can be paid. Each of these agencies issues a BCIA 8016 with its own ORI code; we check the code before capturing your prints so nothing has to be resubmitted.
Because the drive from Ojai is longer, many clients pair their Live Scan with a notary appointment — real estate and escrow documents, powers of attorney, trusts, or healthcare directives — in the same visit. Reserve a time online so your slot is guaranteed, and plan on about fifteen minutes in the studio. If you cannot travel, mobile notary service is available in the Ojai Valley with a travel fee based on distance.
A valid state or government-issued photo ID and your BCIA 8016 Request for Live Scan Service from your requesting agency, including the ORI code. Government processing fees vary by agency and are collected with our $40 rolling fee at your visit.
Certified electronic fingerprinting for licensing, employment, adoption, CCW, and volunteer background checks — submitted to the DOJ and FBI while you're here. Clients must provide the BCIA 8016 Request for Live Scan Service form from the requesting agency, and the form must include the ORI code.
Powers of attorney, affidavits, escrow and loan packages — notarized by a commissioned California notary, in-studio or wherever you are in Ventura County.
For groups of five or more in Ojai, we come to you — schools, care facilities, offices, churches, and youth sports organizations anywhere in Ventura County, with a modest convenience fee.
Most Live Scan requests come from a licensing board, school district, healthcare employer, or state agency. If your requesting agency in Ojai handed you a BCIA 8016 form with an ORI code, we can submit it.
Teachers, classified staff, substitutes, coaches, and classroom volunteers are cleared through the DOJ and FBI.
