before you visit

Answers, in advance.

What should I bring to a Live Scan appointment?

A valid government-issued photo ID and your BCIA 8016 form — the Request for Live Scan Service — from your requesting agency, if one was provided. We attend to everything else.

How quickly will results come back?

Most DOJ responses process within 48–72 hours; FBI-level checks can take slightly longer. Results are transmitted directly to your requesting agency, and you'll leave with an ATI number to track your submission.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes — Wednesday through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturdays 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Same-day reservations are often available, and evenings and weekends can be arranged by appointment.

What does Live Scan cost?

Our rolling fee is $40, and less for groups of five or more. DOJ and FBI processing fees are fixed by the government — they vary by your requesting agency and are not negotiable. Everything is collected together at your visit.

How may I pay?

Debit and credit cards, personal and business checks, Zelle, Venmo, and Apple Pay. All fees are collected at your visit.

Will the notary travel to me?

With pleasure — homes, offices, hospitals, and escrow signings throughout Ventura County, with a modest travel fee by distance.
